One Red Heart

Today I am using this digi that Julia Spiri kindly gave to members of the Kit and Clowder Facebook group. Isn’t she sweet?

I printed the image onto Canson XL watercolor paper as I wanted to make this a one layer CAS card and so the paper needed to be sturdy enough to also be the cardbase. I colored her with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I was trying out some different pink combos to get different shades from a light pink to a darker pink. But one heart in her bunch had to be red! I applied highlights to the balloons, her eyes, her shoes and the folds in her skirt with a white gel pen.

I completed the card by stamping the sentiment under and to the left of her feet in Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink and then added clear embossing powder to it. I love that Distress Oxide inks have enough pigment ink in them to hold onto embossing powder. I then scored and folded the card into a top folding card.
Be sure to check out the Creativ Fusion blog to enter your Love themed projects this month. Julia Spiri has a number of images that would fit the bill if you need one.
