GDT for Cute N Crafty

Today I am excited to share that I was invited to be a Guest Designer for challenge #22 over at the Cute N Crafty Challenge blog. The sponsor for this challenge is Polkadoodles and I chose to work with Mice Love Roses.

I created my card design in Silhouette Studio so that I could weld the shapes of the mice with the heart and get a single cutout to create a shaker card. I printed the image out and colored all except the girly mouse’s dress with my Prismacolor colored pencils. Since I had her in my Silhouette Studio, I traced around her dress and sleeve and cut them out of patterned paper and so paper pieced her dress.

I ran a black marker along the edges so that the sleeve was defined from the dress and completed the dress with a little bit of beaded trim at the hem of the dress and the sleeve.

Once all the coloring was done, I assembled the card by cutting the heart out two times out of two sheets of craft foam with my Silhouette. I glued them on top of each other and then behind the front panel to make the shaker window. The shaker bits are red glitter cardstock mini heart punch outs.
I completed the card by adding a sheet of gold washi tape to the front of a 5.5×5.5 cardbase and then gluing the cardbase to the back of the shaker window. I also added the sentiment cut out of black glitter cardstock and added some red glitter hearts around the two sweeties.
Check out the Cute N Crafty challenge blog. Any artist images are welcome.
