Kindness always works

Today marks the start of another challenge over at World Wide Open Design Team Challenge blog. If you are a member of any Design Team, you may enter our Anything Goes challenge. The sponsor is always Julia Spiri and there are various win and mention categories.
For my project this month I used the sweet image called Be My Valentine. This image goes way beyond just a Valentine’s Day image. Just think of all the occasions you can use it for.

I printed the image onto Daler-Rowney Drawing paper and colored it with my Prismacolor pencils. I then cut it out with my Silhouette after setting an offset. Also using Silhouette Studio, I cut a lattice background out of white cardstock and glued it to the front of a 5.5×5.5 cardbase. The focal image then was adhered onto the lattice background.

I printed the sentiment out from my computer and popped it up on foam tape to the top left hand corner of my card. I wanted to keep the sweet image the focus of this card and so did not add anything more in the line of embellishments.

  1. This is gorgeous, Monica! The image is beautiful and your colouring is amazing – I love the shading and shadows on their clothes and the texture in their hair! Lovely sentiment, too. Stunning work! xx

  2. That is such a beautiful card. I really need to use my Silhouette more than I do, you have given me plenty of inspiration here. Thanks for sharing your creation with us at 613 Avenue Create this month. Hope to see you again next month.

  3. The coloring of the images is stunning. You have reminded me once again that I can cut my images for which I don't have dies. I get so one-tracked in my use of my silhouette. Thanks for sharing this wonderful project with us at 613 Avenue Create!
