Sunbonnet Flowers

It is time for a new challenge over at  Crafts Galore Encore and this month our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps. The winner will receive a $12 Gift Code for the Bugaboo shop. The challenge is always Anything Goes so head over there to enter your projects.
I chose to work with this sweet image called Sunbonnet Flowers. I printed her out onto Strathmore Toned Tan paper. There is just something about colored pencil on colored paper.

I colored the image with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I am still working on getting a white object right, so that it is actually white with some shadows and not grey with some highlights. It worked better here on her apron.

I then cut the image out with a stitched rectangle die and matted it onto a piece of teal cardstock which I in turn added to a sunny yellow cardbase. I completed the card with a die cut sentiment cut out of black glitter cardstock.

We are looking forward to seeing your projects over at Crafts Galore Encore.

  1. I love the colors of this. It's beautiful. I love this card. It reminds me of the quilts that were made years ago with the Sunbonnet Sue characters. I had to stop and make a comment even though that robot makes me click on it. Notice when I have to do that there is never a picture or icon to the left of my name. I guess I'm going to have to try Google Chrome. [Bunny]

  2. A stunning card, Monica! The cute image is so beautifully coloured and looks awesome on the kraft coloured card. I love how your matting reflects your image colours. xx
