A Basket of Bunnies

Time for a new challenge over at the Cute ‘N Crafty challenge blog. The theme is Easter (bunnies or chicks) and the winner of the challenge will get 2 digis from the Cute ‘N Crafty Mommy store.
I opted to use this Whimsy Stamps digi called Basket of Bunnies. Unfortunately this particular stamp has been retired, but there is a newer version still available on the Whimsy Stamps website.

I printed the image and sentiment out through Silhouette Studio onto Daler-Rowney Drawing paper and colored the image with my Prismacolor colored pencils following the Bunnies lesson in the All About Animals class at Kit and Clowder. I added the “halo” around the bunnies with soft pastel and then sprayed the paper with Krylon Workable Fixative so that it stays put. Once I had it colored, I returned to Silhouette Studio to cut the card panel out. While one can easily do the cutting with a paper trimmer, I like to use the software to get the size exact and also be able to work with the placement of the image and the sentiment.

I adhered the image panel onto a 4.25×5.5 patterned paper panel which in turn was adhered to a top folding card base. I added a few pearls for a little decoration.
We look forward to seeing your projects over at the Cute ‘N Crafty Challenge blog. You have 2 weeks to enter.

  1. Monica, your colouring of this delightful image is just stunning! I love the textured fur you've given to the bunnies and I want to reach out and touch the basket weave! I need to get my pencils out and practise! Beautiful card and sentiment! xx

  2. Monica, this card is great !! I love your coloring with Prismacolor. It is simply brilliant! I love how soft all these cute animals look. Your bow looks the same, soft and wonderful.
