Prehistoric Cutie

It is Friday already and time for another challenge over at the Colour Crazy challenge.  The challenge is Anything Goes as long as you have some hand coloring on your project. This fortnight the sponsor is All Dressed Up. I got to work with this cute stamp called Dino.

I printed the sweet dino out through Silhouette Studio onto Daler-Rowney drawing paper and colored him with my Prismacolor colored pencils. Once completed, I returned to Silhouette Studio and cut him out. I cut an additional shape of the dino out of white cardstock and then glued the drawing paper colored version onto the cardstock shape to make it sturdier.

I created a white cardbase and inked the front of the card with Distress Oxide inks. I used Seedless Preserves at the bottom of the card and Picked Raspberry at there top. I then blended a line of Vintage Photo across the middle. Once done, I sprayed the card with water, allowed it to oxidize and then dabbed it off, leaving the beautiful texture behind.

I covered the back of the dino cutout with foam tape and popped him up on my card. I stamped the sentiment using a Spellbinders stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.I completed the scene with two flowers and a butterfly from previous Spellbinders Small Die of the Month club.
Head over to Colour Crazy Challenge and enter your hand colored project. You have two weeks to do so. We look forward to seeing your makes.

  1. He's a very sweet dinosaur and certainly looks magnificent on your Distress Oxide background. Gorgeous colours and a wonderful colouring technique! Have a super weekend, Monica. xx
