Father’s Day

So yesterday was Father’s Day and last month I have made the moms in our small congregation a card for Mother’s Day, so this time I did one for the Dads. Of course I had the perfect die set to make the cards with. Who needs an excuse anyway to play with the Spellbinders Truckin’ through the Seasons die set.

I made white cardbases and embossed the front of each with a Darice tree embossing folder so that the tree is off to one side. I cut the truck body piece out of blue cardstock, the chrome parts out of matte silver cardstock, the tires out of black cardstock and the tail lights out of red glitter cardstock and assembled each truck. I added a bit of vellum in the window of the truck.

I measured the cutout from the tailgate panel and created textboxes in MS Word just a little bigger and added the tailgate sentiment. Once printed, I cut them out with the tailgate die and added them to the truck.

I completed the card with a yellow sun in the sky cut from yellow cardstock and with Happy Father’s Day printed on it.

The cards were well received and I enjoyed making them. This truck die is so versatile – I love it. This is one of those few no coloring cards you find here on my blog.
