Beary Amazing

Happy Monday! Here I am today with a new project for the Cute ‘N Crafty Challenge blog. Our challenges are now monthly and this time the sponsor is Treasure Box Designs. I got to work with Digi Love Bear.

I designed this card in Silhouette Studio. I created a rectangle sized at 4×5.25 inches and filled it with one of the pretty papers from the Spring Plaids collection by Periwinkle Pixel Shop. I rotated and panned the paper so that my plaid stripes would run up and down and not diagonally. Then I added the digi onto the rectangle and sized it accordingly. Using the digi’s cutline, I created an offset and then filled the offset with a black to white gradient.I shut the cutlines off for both the digi and the offset as this was to be a one layer panel. I then printed the panel out onto Daler-Rowney Drawing paper and colored the bear with my Colleen colored pencils. If you follow my blog, you will know that they are still the original made-in-Japan Colleens that I have had since I was a kid. It is such fun to break them out every now and again.

Once I had completed the coloring, I returned the page to the Silhouette and cut the panel out. I stamped my sentiment with a stamp from a Kaisercraft set in Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I completed the card by adding it to a dark blue cardbase. This is an easy one to mail.
We look forward to seeing your projects over at the Cute ‘N Crafty Challenge blog. Theme this month is Anything Goes.
