Flowers and glitter

Today I wish to share my final project as a DT member of the Scrappers Delight team. It is the middle of the month and that means it is time for Special Deals – which means that the older images off the Scrapper Delights website that the DT team chooses to work with are on sale. Be sure to check them out on the DT Specials page.

I chose to work the beautiful flower background from the Flowers Plants Bundle 1. I created a 5×5 inch square in my Silhouette Studio and filled the whole square out with the flowery background image. I added one of the ladies from the Victorian Lady Bundle into the center of one of the flowers and then added a sentiment from We Are 3 Digital Shop. I printed the image out onto Strathmore Paint Pad paper and then colored the flowers with my Arteza real brush markers. I have an inkject printer and so I was curious how these water color markers would perform next to the printer ink. I had left the image to airdry for a few days after printing and I did not end up having any problems with the markers as long as I did not use any water.

Once the flower petal were completed, I added the centers with a brown glitter gel pen. I colored the lady with my Prismacolor colored pencils, doing the edgings on her skirt and jacket with a red glitter gel pen. I then returned the panel to the Silhouette to cut the square out and then adhered the panel to a pink glitter cardstock 5.5×5.5 inch matte which I in turn, glued to a cardbase.

The DT Special Deals also marks the start of a new challenge over at Scrappers Delights and this month the theme is tic-tac-toe. I opted to use the line with gems, flowers and twine. I completed the card by adding the gems and the twine as I already had a number of flowers.
Be sure to check out the Scrappers Delights challenge and we look forward to seeing you enter your projects there.

  1. Hi, Monica! Fabulous coloring – and your coloring really does outshine GLITTER! (Yikes! Did I REALLY say THAT?!) Love the sparkle behind your fantasy garden with those gloriously brilliant flowers! It's pure delight! Wishing you a sunny day – we are under a thunderstorm warning until 5:15PM with potentially high winds, lots of lightning, and flooding – typical sumer day, right? Thanks for sharing your marvelous design! xx
