The Mermaid

Today’s project is my coloring of the Kit and Clowder July 2019 pencils class. The class image is drawn by Janna Prosvirina Fantasy Art. This class is packed with techniques including skin, hair, underwater coloring, color blending, fins and shells just to mention some of them.

My hubby asked that I make my coloring available for us to enjoy and so I decided to use this multi-frame to put my monthly classes into as I do them. I printed the image out so that it would fit in the 4×6 inch space that each frame is. I used Daler-Rowney Drawing paper and colored it with my Prismacolor colored pencils.

Once completed, I added it to the first frame in the set and it went up on the wall. Now to start the next class and add another one to the collection.

  1. Monica, you're coloring on this Kit and Clowder class project is amazing! You are a Prismacolor master. I haven't attempted that class yet…it's waiting in line with several of my other monthly classes. I just haven't found the time to sit down and concentrate because her classes are pretty intense. What a clever idea to frame your monthly works of art. I always try to incorporate them into a card, but that's not always easy. I think I'll get a frame to put them in also. It might encourage me to get my classes done. xo Nancy

  2. Wow! Aren't your color choices and blending techniques just amazing, Monica? I especially like the way you are blending opposite colors, such as the purple and gold in her lovely tail. Gorgeous definition in her face, too! I especially like the water highlights going vertically rather than horizontally. Beautifully done, my Florida friend! xx

  3. Oh my goodness – this is a fantastic project, Monica. Such a beautiful image and gorgeous colours and colouring! Fab idea to place your art in a multi-frame! x
