Winter wishes

Here I am sharing my DT inspiration for the new Cute N’ Crafty Christmas challenge. The theme is always Anything Goes Christmas or Winter. Our sponsor this month is Treasure Box Designs and I was able to work the the SVG file of Country Cutie Penguin.

When purchasing the design, you get various formats together with the precolored JPG image. I used the SVG file and opened it in my Silhouette Studio. Since all the pieces were individually colored, I just laid them out onto a page and printed them and then returned them to the Silhouette to cut them out. Once I had all the pieces and with the help of the JPG image, I glued the pieces together to make the sweet penguin, adding some shading with my Arteza brush pens and a white Posca pen.

Once completed, I embossed a piece of blue cardstock with a Darice embossing folder and adhered it to a white cardbase. I then added the penguin and completed the card with a die cut sentiment. The SVG file was definitely a lot of fun to play with and of course resizing the resulting penguin is a cynch in Silhouette Studio – or any SVG compatible software that you may use.
The challenge over at the Cute ‘N Crafty Christmas blog goes for a month and we look forward to seeing your Christmas or Winter themed card over there.
