Corner punches

We have a new challenge over at the Outlawz Crash Your Stash – this month the cue is Corner Punches. Well I have only ever owned one corner punch and I even found it in my stash that is currently being radically downsized.

My card today features this cute image called See Saw by All Dressed Up. I opted for a monochrome overall look with only her skin and her boots showing a pop of color. I printed her out onto Canson C’ a Grain Drawing paper and colored her with my Prismacolor colored pencils, doing the monochrome sections in shades of Warm Grey. Once she was completed, I trimmed the image down and used the corner punch on the bottom two corners. I cut a piece of lime green textured cardstock down to fit the image panel with some space around the sides and used the corner punch again on the bottom two corners.

I ran my cardbase through my embossing machine with a Darice polka dot embossing folder and then adhered the focal panel and the matte to each other and to the cardbase. I cut the word DREAM out of black and black glitter cardstock and adhered each of the letters to each other so that they would be a bit dimensional and then added the word in a whymsical fashion to the base of the card. I completed the card by adding a few pearls in two shades of purple.

Do you have corner punches in your stash? How about crashing them out and joining us in this month’s Crash your Stash challenge at the Outlawz.

  2. Lovely card, Monica. I love how you kept the image black and white, with a punch of color on the skin and boots. Your palette, design and sentiment all come together beautifully for this darling card. xo
