Family of Birds

Today I have a Christmas card to show you as my DT inspiration for this month’s challenge at the World Wide Open Design Team Challenge blog. The theme is always Anything Goes as long as you are a member of any design team in the world. This time I got to work with this cool image called Family of Birds done by our resident sponsor, Julia Spiri. Julia now also has a Patreon page if you are interested in checking it and the perks of membership out.

I decided these guys would make a cute Christmas card. I printed them out onto Canson C’ a Grain Drawing paper after sizing them for my card in Silhouette Studio. I created the background of the card in Silhouette Studio also by using digital papers from the Simply Christmas Bundle by Periwinkle Pixel Shop. The sentiment is also typed through Silhouette Studio.

I colored the family with my Prismacolor colored pencils and once done, I returned them to the Silhouette to cut them out. I created a shadow for them and cut that out of dark green cardstock. I adhered the image to the shadow and then the shadow to the cardpanel. I completed the card by adding the cardpanel to a green cardbase.

You have a month to enter your projects over at the World Wide Open Design Team Challenge blog. We look forward to seeing your makes.
