A box of flowers

I am still here in sunny South Africa. Today is a dear friend’s birthday and I made this box card for her before I left so that I could bring it with me. I happened upon the cut files over at Dreaming Tree and decided it was just perfect – a card and a bunch of flowers in one.

I cut all the parts out on my Silhouette machine and then inked them all with various colors of Memento ink. It just added a little more dimension to the look of the flower garden.

I then pieced all the pieces together. I opted not to add any further dimension as this card was going a long way in its envelope and so it needed to be as flat as possible. But it would look really nice with some of the flowers popped up on foam dots.

I completed the card by adding a Happy Birthday sentiment from a Spellbinders die set and adding some flatback pearls to the corners of the “crate”. I also added some Wink of Stella to the sentiment and some of the flowers.
Thank you for still visiting my blog while I am away. I will catch up on yours as and when I have internet access or when I get home.
