Floral Abundance

Today I am sharing another card I made with no coloring on it. I wanted to kill a few birds with one stone here, namely enter the current Path of Positivity Challenge, use my Spellbinders layered flower dies and make a card for my current Chemo buddy to encourage her on her journey.

I checked through the promises section on my journalling Bible for a verse of encouragement and this one definitely did it for me. I measured the size of the circle I wanted to add to the card and created one the same size in MS Word to that I could size the scripture accordingly. I printed it out onto cardstock and cut it out with a Hero Arts Infinity die. I then created a 5.5×5.5 cardbase out of heavyweight white cardstock. Using silver cardstock from my stash, I cut a frame with my paper trimmer and then cut a 4.24×4.25 inch piece of cardstock to go in the centered of the frame. I embossed that piece of white cardstock with an embossing folder.

I created the layered flowers out of two shades of aqua cardstock, silver cardstock and black cardstock. The foliage was done in two shades of green cardstock. Once I had all my flower cut out and assembled, I arranged them on the card.

Once all the flowers were adhered to the card, I added the circle with the scripture on it to the center with foam tape.
Encouraging others is definitely something that is important to me. In a world of so much sadness, negativity and discouragement, a little ray of hope and kindness always goes a long way.

  1. Monica this is gorgeous, the layered flowers, the offset rectangular frame and the scripture is beautiful,so perfect for an encouragement card. Hugs, Lori m

  2. The symmetry disorder in the card added a lot of traffic. A great idea for the inner square to be rotated relative to the card base. I also love your flowers, they are so light and spring.
