Some tags

Life seems a little crazy right now, but I took some time to craft yesterday. I decided to unpack my supplies and make some tags. I have never made tags before, but I have seen people make lovely ones and so here I go. I made two.

I cut two sides of my tag, one out of watercolor paper and one out of sturdy cardstock. For this tag I used a Mama Elephant stamp set gifted to me by my friend Kelly. I stamped the little flying unicorn three times onto my tag with Versamark ink and then embossed them with clear embossing powder. I then blended Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink from the top and Seedless Preserves from the bottom. Once the ink was dry, I sprayed the tag with water, making sure that droplets of various sizes were involved, and let it sit a few seconds before dabbing it with a paper towel. I loved the result.

I stamped the walking unicorn onto a piece of watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink and also added clear embossing powder. I then colored the unicorn with Arteza Brush markers and a water pen. I then cut it out with the matching die.

I stamped a sentiment from a Power Poppy stamp set onto the tag, added the cutout unicorn and some gems. I completed the tag by gluing the cardstock tag to the back and adding a piece of purple ribbon through the hole.
My second tag also has a fantasy theme. This time I stamped some roses from a set that I won onto the background and also heat embossed it with clear powder. I then squished some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide onto my glass mat, sprayed it with water and pulled my tag through it – making interesting variations of color.

Once dry, I stamped the sentiment from a Kaiserkraft stamp set that I had won in Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed with with clear embossing powder. The fairy is a Spellbinders die that I cut from white glitter cardstock backed with Stick It adhesive.

I glued the front to the cardstock tag, added some gems from my stash and a piece of gold ribbon through the hole.

I enjoyed making these tags and I will be making some more sometime. It has been fun to also do something a little different. But my pencils are definitely feeling left out and so I will have to take care of that in the next short while.

  3. Tags are another area where I don't feel very confident. You write that these are your first tags … it's hard to believe because they look really racial
