All in blue

Good morning friends, it is Monday. We have a new week ahead of us, let us enjoy it. Today I have a card made with another image that I had printed out a long time ago and never got to coloring. It is a sweet penguin flying his kite and drawn by Conie Fong.

I printed the image onto Canson C’ a Grain Drawing paper. I have been using this paper for a while now and I am enjoying it a lot for my pencils. I use the smoother of the two sides and seem to get well blended and yet vibrant results. I decided to go with a monochromatic look with this project and so colored it all in shades of blue. Once completed, I cut the image out with a stitched oval die. I cut a lacey oval out of a blue cardstock and glued them together. I then cut a piece of cardstock at 4×5.25 inches and ran it through a snowflake embossing folder before adhering it to a blue cardbase. I then added the ovals.

I completed my card by stamping the sentiment in Memento ink with stamps from a Spellbinders stampset. I also added some white gel pen to the kite.

  3. Your color is fantastic as always. I love the color gradation on a cute penguin. But what impressed me most was the way you colored the kite. Incredible!!
