Hello there!

Today I have a fun card to show you. The image is from Fabrika Fantasy and called Easter Chick, but I decided to use just the chick part of the image as she looked like she was doing a video chat with her friend. We have all learned a lot about video chatting with our loved ones lately, so this was perfect.

I sized the digi in Silhouette Studio to fit onto a A2 card and printed her out onto Canson C’ a Grain Drawing paper. I colored her with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I used some purple gel pen on her phone and some white gel pen on the braiding on her hat. Once she was colored, I returned her to the Silhouette to cut her out. I cut a second of her shapes out of black cardstock and after running a black marker along the edge of the digi cutout, I glued the two together.

I used a yellow cardbase here and added a panel of  plaid paper from my newly acquired plaid paper pack. I cut a piece of purple cardstock with a decorative edge die and stamped the panel with a gingham background stamp and Versamark ink to create a tone-on-tone look. I added the “carpet” to the bottom of the card and added the happy chick.

I completed the card by cutting the “hello” sentiment out of yellow cardstock twice and once out of yellow craft foam and then gluing all the layers together and adding it to the card.

  3. This is great. I like the colour scheme but I particularly like the nod to video chatting. Thank you for joining in the Anything Goes Challenge at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends.

  4. Your color selection is amazing, Monica! I love soda chicken, its coloring makes it look like three-dimensional. You've mastered the art of colored pencil. A wonderful card.
