Progressive at Outlawz

It is May 1 and so time for a new Progressive Challenge at the Outlawz. This month our sponsor is Elena Zinski Art and the digi is Amelia Mermaid. When I saw her, I thought she had the perfect face to be peeking in through the porthole of a ship.

I printed her out onto Canson C’ a Grain Drawing paper. I colored her skin, her hair and her bow with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I used gel pens for her headband and the frames of her glasses. The water was done with watercolor pencils in two shades of blue.

Using Silhouette Studio and papers from the Shabby Collection by We are 3 Digital Shop, I created the inside of the cabin with wallpaper, carpet and the wooden porthole. I printed the panel onto white cardstock and then returned it to the Silhouette to cut out the panel and the circle in the middle. I adhered the colored Amelia to the back of the panel before adhering the panel to a lavender cardbase.

I completed the card by adding the word friend stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with white powder and then gluing the die cut hello to the left of it. I coated the die cut with Wink of Stella. Finally I added 3 gems from my stash into Amelia’s world. What mermaid does not have gems in her world, anyway?
We would love to see your creations with Amelia Mermaid during the month of May over at the Outlawz Progressive Challenge. Come over and join in the fun.

  1. This project is simply amazing! Both the idea of placing a mermaid in the porthole window and the choice of background is perfect. This card is amazing
