Sequins

The middle of the month means a new Crash your Stash challenge and this month the cue is Sequins. Sherry West is our sponsor and I am using her image called Fans. I had some purple sequins in my stash and so it was time to get them out.
I printed the elegant lady out onto Canson C’ a Grain Drawing paper and colored her with my Prismacolor colored pencils. Here I am going bright again and so I opted for a combo of red and purple. I colored the background with soft pastels in orange and shades of yellow and applied a workable fixative once it was done.

After the fixative was dry, I cut the image out and matted it onto some purple cardstock which I applied to a cardpanel of plaid patterned paper and glued it down onto a purple cardbase. Once all the layers were firmly in place, I laid out the sequins, running along the folds in the lady’s dress. When I was happy with the placement, I glued them in place. I completed the card with a sentiment die from a Recollections die set that I have in my stash cut out of gold mirror cardstock.

We look forward to seeing your projects showing off the sequins you have in your stash this month. Join us over at the Outlawz Crash your Stash challenge. You have a month to enter.

  1. I'm so far behind on my visits, Monica, that I wonder if I'll ever get caught up. 😀 But I do love this card and how you did the sequins – it's gorgeous with the purple and red!
