Panda with a difference

Hello Blogland! Yes, here I am after quite a long absence. The year-end was quite busy including a change of location for our RV. We decided to do small town for a while. The peace is almost palpable and the silence loud, but we are enjoying it a lot.

Recently I saw that Kris at Imagine That Digistamps had started a progressive challenge. I love her stamps and when I saw this cute panda, I had to join. So here is my make.

I wanted the image to be the focus of my card and keep the style completely CAS. I designed the layout of the panel in Silhouette Studio, adding the image into the bottom right-hand corner of my panel and added a sentiment from my Imagine That Digistamp stash. I printed the panel out onto regular cardstock. While coloring on smooth cardstock is quite different to coloring on my favorite drawing paper, it makes for a change.

I colored the digi with my Prismacolor colored pencils. Yes, pandas are not brown and orange - I know. But pandas don't float in umbrellas either, so... To do the hearts, I challenged myself to go through my pencil swatch chart and make every heart a different color. So none of them are the same. I then added white highlights with a Signo pen and colored the handle stem of the umbrella with a silver gel pen.

Once I had done the coloring, I cut the panel out with a stitched rectangle die and adhered it to the front of a white cardbase.

Thank you for all of you that visit me so regularly. I appreciate your visit and your comments and would like to wish you all the best for 2021. Stay healthy.

  8. Hello Monica. I always love your CAS cards and this one is no exception. I didn't realise that you have moved, so unless you left a forwarding address my card won't reach you :(. Anyway, if at all possible, have a healthy and happy 2021! xx
