Kind and Beautiful

Today is Friday again and so time for another coloring project. This time I am using a Conie Fong image on my card and this is the second experiment that I have done trying to merge a background with a focal image in Silhouette Studio. As I said in my previous post, this needs more practice.

I printed the image out onto Canson C’ a Grain Drawing paper, cut the design out on my Silhouette and colored it with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I enjoyed figuring out some new color combos on this project, you can find them in the freebie linked in the last paragraph.

I matted the background panel onto mirror gold cardstock as I wanted the hearts to be golden to go with the sentiment I was going to use. I then added my cardpanel to a white cardbase. I recently found the Altenew Slim Sentiments die set and saw many possibilities with it. My sentiment on this card is made up of two different sentiments from the set that I cut out of white cardstock and glued onto a black strip.

If you follow my blog, you are welcome to download the color combo freebie for this image.

  1. This is fabulous Monica, I love the gold background and the work you did in Silhouette to layer the great image. A lovely combination of colours. I love cutting out my digis in Silhouette also.

I also saw a post the other day which says that if you scan in a stamped image and "merge" it onto a page with registration marks, you can cut the image out, I understood the same as digital stamps, I haven't tried it yet.

  2. Hello Monica,
fairy tale card! I love a cute picture and your coloring stunned me once again! I would never have thought that you could so cleverly combine a panel with an image and a pre-cut background. You are a true master of working with Silhouette.
