More flowers

Happy Monday blog friends! It is time for the reminder post over at Jan’s Digital Stamps Challenge blog. My card this fortnight is another one that I created with a hand colored focal point and a digital paper background.

The background paper is some faux glitter paper that I have had in my digital stash for a long time. Using Silhouette Studio, I created a rectangle sized at 4×5.25 inches and filled it with the digital paper. I placed the flower digi on the background, sizing it accordingly. I then created an offset around the digi so that I could “pop” it off of the busy background. I filled the offset with one of the colors from the background which I chose with the color picker. I added the sentiment, which comes from the same digi set, and resized it to fit.
I then printed the composition out onto Canson C’ a grain paper and colored the flowers with my Prismacolor colored pencils. I cut the panel out and added it to a white A2 sized cardbase. I fussy cut the sentiment and ran a marker along the edge to give it some definition.

I would like to invite you to join us over at Jan’s Digital Stamps Challenge blog. The challenge is always Anything Goes and runs for a month.

This is the digi set I used for this project. It is currently on sale over at Jan’s Digital Stamp Shop together with some other Mother’s Day stamps.

  1. Your prismacolor skills are lovely. Monica! I actually thought your background was "hand created" at first, and was going to ask you how you achieved the straight lines LOL The way you layer your papers is always intriguing. In this case, under the flowers, putting a smaller representation of the larger background brings out so much texture! Loving your color choices in the flowers, too! hugs, de
