Refreshing friendship

Hello friends! It is time for another DT project for Jan’s Digital Stamps Challenge Blog. The challenges are always Anything Goes and they last a month.

I used two stamp sets for my project (which I will link below). I designed the project in Silhouette Studio so that I could get exact placement of my images. I used the PNG images and placed the cup next to the vase of flowers. I added digital paper for the backgrounds and also added on offset around my images so that I could “raise” them some from the background. I added the sentiment on a plain colored background. Silhouette Studio has an eyedropper tool one can use to get an exact color match and so I used that for the color behind the sentiment so it would match the background. I then printed my design onto Canson C’ a Grain paper and colored the flowers and coffee cup with my Prismacolor colored pencils.
Once completed I cut the paper down to the edges of the design. I cut a black matte 1/8 inch bigger in each direction and put it behind my panel, showing the smallest frame. I then added the matted panel to a white card base.

I would like to invite you to join us this month and share your project with us at Jan’s Digital Stamp Challenge Blog.

  1. Hi, Monica! So much pretty detail in the "wall paper" to coordinate with your floral arrangement. I love especially the color applied around the vase, and the yellow rings of your china set for the beverage. I would never have thought of running the two matching digital papers at angles and horizontally along the bottom. Looks beautiful!

  2. This is such a gorgeous card. I love the paper background with the beautifully colored image.I have had my Silhouette for years and never took the time to learn how to use it. I finally just started, but only working on the basics. Maybe someday, I will be half as creative with it as you are. Beautiful work!

  3. Welcome Monica to CD Sunday Plus. I have just purchased this digital set from Jan and am looking forward to using it soon. I always use the coloured version though as my colouring leaves a lot to be desired. Yours is beautiful.
