Where have you been??

That is what some of you may have been wondering. I have missed visiting your blogs on a regular basis. Maybe some pictures will make up for my absence.

We pulled out of our spot in Florida early on Sunday morning, November 10. We had planned to go as far as Chattahoochee, FL that night.

We are pretty long while in tow, approximately 55 feet (just short of 17 meters). We did make it to Chattahoochee, FL where we discovered a lovely little restaurant called Northside Seafood. If you ever pass through there, give their potato salad a try!!

Chattahoochee, FL

The next day we made it further than expected and got as far as Duson, LA. During this leg of the journey, we crossed the mighty Mississippi! That is always something special for me. The Mississippi is known around the world and I always love seeing it - despite that it is largely industrial in this area.

Crossing the Mississippi

That was the night the Arctic Blast hit the middle of the US. It was about 70 degrees F (21C) when we got there. The wind came up at about midnight and by the next morning it was 28 degrees F (-2C) Ouch!

Duson, LA

On the next day, our planned stop was to be San Antonio, but again making good time, we decided to push through the city so that we did not need to navigate it the next morning. We found a spot that worked for us in Boerne, TX. I don't have a pic from here - waaay to chilly for this girl.

The roads in Texas were definitely not in the best shape and I wondered how my plates and glasses would fare as I had not padded them prior to pulling out. But although they had moved in the cabinets, nothing was broken. But the wide open countryside was such a balm for the soul! I love the wide, open spaces of the west.

Somewhere in Texas

Our next stop was in Van Horn, TX. We are very familiar with Van Horn, as it has been a stop for us previously while driving along I-10. The temps where still cold and I had to rub the ice off the windshields the next morning. But, we had decided that we could make it all the way to Tucson that day and that was exciting - so we were up just before the sun. Obviously the constant time changes also helped with early morning get ups in the cold.

A chilly Van Horn, TX
New Mexico is also a land of wide open spaces and the scenery is beautiful.

Finally we saw the welcome sign we had been waiting for!

Arizona state line
We headed along the last leg of our journey. We found our spot and finally the truck could get unhitched and we could put our legs down for a while. We will be here for an extended stay.

Progressive at Outlawz

It is the first of December and here I am to show you my DT inspiration for this month's Progressive Challenge at Outlawz. I am sure you know by now that this fun challenge runs every month and if you participated the month before, you will automatically receive the new image in your email inbox on the first of the next month.

This month our sponsor is LeAnn's World 101 and the image is Daisy.

Collage Art ATCoins

Time for a new challenge over at Crafts Galore Encore. Who can believe that it is December already? This is my final project on the Crafts Galore Encore Design Team as I have resigned my position on a number of the teams I was on this year to free up some time for 2020.

Our sponsor this month is Gecko Galz and I got to work with the Flower Power Paper Pack, the Spring Charms Digital Collage Set and the Charming Words Collage Set. I decided they were the perfect combo to make ATCoins with and so I opened my trusty GIMP and Silhouette Studio and got to work.

Diver kitty!

This month's challenge over at Colour Crazy Challenge blog is sponsored by a relatively new-to-me artist, namely Knitty Kitty. I got to work with Deep Sea Diver.

The night before Christmas

Here I am again with another post for the middle of the month sponsor at Rabisco Challenge blog. Our sponsor is All Dressed Up Stamps and I got to work with the image called The Night Before Christmas.

Family of Birds

Today I have a Christmas card to show you as my DT inspiration for this month's challenge at the World Wide Open Design Team Challenge blog. The theme is always Anything Goes as long as you are a member of any design team in the world. This time I got to work with this cool image called Family of Birds done by our resident sponsor, Julia Spiri. Julia now also has a Patreon page if you are interested in checking it and the perks of membership out.

The little red wagon

I cannot believe it is November already and here I am with another project to show you today. It is time for another Progressive Challenge at Outlawz and this month our sponsor is Hetty Clare Art and the image is called Moving House. I was asked to join the Progressive Challenge Design Team and since I play along every month anyway, I agreed (although I am reducing my design team obligations for the new year - more on that later).
