Nadia

I am almost late to the party, but yet still in time. That is the Progressive Challenge over at Outlawz and this month the image is Nadia from MMedel Illustrations. What is interesting about Nadia, is that her eyes are blank on the lineart image and so you can complete them to your heart’s desire.

This card is partially designed in Silhouette Studio. I created a 4×5.25 rectangle in the software so that I could size Nadia accordingly. I then created a cutline for her and printer her out on Daler-Rowney drawing paper. I colored her with my Prismacolor colored pencils and opted to give her green eyes. Once she was colored, I returned her to the Silhouette and cut her out. I cut a second shape from her cutline out of cardstock and then glued the two together to give her a bit of stability as I wanted to pop her up.

Then I tried another new-to-me-technique with some partial embossing. I determined the plain space I wanted at the top of the card for my sentiment and aligned my white cardpanel in the embossing folder accordingly and ran it through the machine. I then turned it over and using my scoreboard, I ran the bone folder down to create the edge line. I then adhered the cardpanel to a cardbase before stamping the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink.
I added Nadia to the front of the card on foam tape so that she stands up from the embossed panel.
I love participating in the Outlawz Progressive Challenge. You automatically get the new image on the first of every month if you have played along before. If you have never played with us, you are invited to join.
