Stickers

I am back again with a second DT post for today. This time for the Outlawz Crash your Stash challenge. This challenge is so much fun as it asks for specific item out of your stash and this month the cue is Stickers. The theme is always Anything Goes using the cue. Our sponsor this month is Drawn by Krista and I got to work with this cute digi called Vintage Horse.

Well I decided this cool looking horse could not just be brown – oh no! So she got a rainbow mane and tail and pink hooves and blaze. I printed her out onto Canson C’ a Grain Drawing paper through my Silhouette Studio software so that I could create a cutline for her and then cut her out once I had colored her. The little rosette was also part of the digi set and so I included it here. I colored both horse and rosette with my Prismacolor colored pencils, using a white Milky Pop pen for the dots. I recently saw a recommendation for the Milky Pop pen and so I decided to try it. I must say that I am really impressed as it is the first while gel pen that I have used with my pencils that stayed truly white and did not take up any of the color from the pencil underneath.

Once I had completed my coloring, I returned the page to the Silhouette and cut the horse and the rosette out. I cut the same shape from black cardstock and after running a black marker around the edges of the digis, I glued them to the black cardstock cutouts.
I then made a 5.5×5.5 inch cardbase and using papers and stickers from a paper pad that I have had in my stash forever, I created the scene to make a Valentine’s Day card. The horse is popped up on foam tape.

We would love to see your creations using the stickers that I am sure you have in your stash and have not used in forever. Join us over at the Outlawz Crash your Stash challenge. You have a month to enter.

  1. Oh, Monica, I adore your rainbow pony! I keep saying I have to dig out some stickers and play in that challenge but another week is almost over and I still haven't done it. Now you've inspired me to go get the box with all my stickers and find something. 😀

  2. This is such a darling, bright, cheery card, Monica. Your cute rainbow pony reminds me of the fun "My Little Ponies" my daughters played with as children. Your white dots look great. I'm going to try that Milky Pop pen. xx

  3. Well, like magic, you have a post published all the way from Africa! LOL Hope your trip is a good one. In the meantime, I love fantasy-colored animals! Your little rainbow horse could not be sweeter, or more beautifully colored! Wonderful card! hugs, de
