Donut Delight

Happy Friday! Again! It seems like I turn around once and it is Friday again. Anyway, I am here with a project to share with you. Somehow I got myself into the Kinda Cute Progressive Challenge last month and so I got this month’s image to create with. Wow, look at all those carbs – a donut as big as oneself!!

This is the second cut from the page that I was successful in combining a digi cut file with a background cut file in Silhouette Studio. I printed it out on Canson C’ a Grain Drawing paper and colored her with my Prismacolor colored pencils, all but the sprinkles. I colored them in a pink sparkle gel pen so that they would add a bit of pop to the donut.
A friend of mine was clearing out her closets and had some specialty papers, this corrugated cardstock being one of them. I decided that would work well as a card panel for this project. So I stuck my cutout panel onto it before adhere the panel to a white cardbase.

I added two die cut sentiments from my trading card binder. I made a bunch of sentiments, gluing the word to its shadow and so I can just get one out of the binder when I need one. I tried the reverse options on the two words and I thought it looked quite cute.
Again, I have a downloadable color combo chart for this project. Please just follow my blog before you download it.

  1. adding a background cutout is a great idea to make the card more attractive, This girl with a pack is very sweet and as always beautifully colored in your performance

  2. Wow, that corrugated background pops and the pink is pretty. I knew you would work the jedi master thing on this machine technique. Why I love paper crafts so much, it's challenging if we want it to be, not so much when we don't (well, if one doesn't age or become crippled, that is, lol). xoxo
